How It All Started And How It’s Going

My background in high-pressure sales and marketing has shaped my organisational skills and marketing vision. Despite the challenges of starting a business during a pandemic, I didn’t shy away from hard work, and it has paid off. For the past five years, I have been supporting businesses with their administration needs, and I can honestly say that I love every second of it.

I have worked with a diverse range of clients, including YouTubers, travel companies, online stores, construction companies, baby groups, personal trainers, education providers, photographers, domestic cleaners, hairdressers, gyms, and healthcare providers.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is making businesses look great, through marketing and their sales. I understand that as a business owner, you have a vision for your company, and I am here to support that vision.

Another fantastic reward is changing business owners lives. Knowing the processes I have made or maintained have made the difference is just brilliant!

Ok so me, not the Professional Administrator!

My interests and experiences have been varied.  Sport has always been at the forefront of my life and now it is more than ever!  My kids are both avid footballers and I am Assistant Coach for my youngest’s team.

I am at the gym 3-4 times a week weight training and boxing.  In 2022 I had my first fight in a White Collar Boxing match – I won, I carried on with training and recently I have 1:1 training and sparring weekly – might be getting ready for another fight…. never say never!

And finally being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2019.  I know right, the most hyperactive girl to have MS – I don’t have the time for it to effect my life so I keep active and look after myself to keep going.

Downtime (Lol I did mention I have 2 football crazy kids!):
I love an escape room and a quiz, we are telly addicts! Diamond paintings, Clash of Clans and seeing my pals.

Being a busy mum and running my own business only helps me achieve goals.  My ability to multitask is an asset to your business when you work with me!

About Need A VA

I started out as a Virtual Assistant during the pandemic, turning what was meant to be a side hustle into a thriving full-time business. Along the way, I faced the same challenges so many VAs encounter clients coming and going, being undercut by people charging pennies, and constantly having to prove the value of our work. Over time, I built up a brilliant team of VAs and gained first hand experience of just how tough, but also how rewarding, this industry can be.

What frustrated me most was the lack of a dedicated place for VAs to really shine. Too often we’re left battling with social media algorithms or scrolling endless job boards, which just isn’t the best use of our time. That’s why I created the Need a VA Directory – a space built by a VA, for VAs.

The directory is all about visibility, fairness, and opportunity. It gives Virtual Assistants a professional platform to showcase their skills, connect with clients who value what they do, and take the stress out of marketing themselves. My aim is simple: to support VAs in building sustainable businesses where they’re paid fairly and recognised for the incredible work they do.
